It is the county seat of Gregg County, with a small portion extending east into neighboring Harrison County. It is situated in East Texas, on the grid of Interstate 20 and U.S. Highways 80 and 259. Males had a median income of $33,078 versus $21,400 for females. large portion of western Longview is served by the Pine Tree Independent School District. A portion of northwestern Longview is served by the Spring Hill Independent School District.
